PL Wk 03 2016
We are 3 weeks into 2016 and this plan of 1 page per week is going good. With design A divided page protectors I have 8 spaces to fill so I can fill every pocket with a pic like this week or I could have a filler card in place of a pic it if I was lazy and did not take enough pics. I am quite happy with this plan.
The top left corner pocket it a cut apart from Simply Stories Say Cheese II pad.
Thank you or looking.

09-2016 Choosing Happy
I also picked up the Dear Lizzy Serendipity pad at Michael's as well at Pink Paislys Memorandum pad on sale
I used a sketch for this LO today as well as the Dear Lizzy paper. I challenged myself to use the green swirly paper (my least favorite in the line) I toned it down with vellum and used it as the base layer,

I didn't have a silver polka dot a paper so I used wide washi tape on white card stock. The scrabble tiles have in my drawer forever.

08-2016 Love thy self
I picked up the Crate Paper Hello Love paper pad and Micheal's for $5.99. Wow I was shocked that they had it so quickly.
I had this picture sitting on my scrap desk for many many months and I talk about why in the journaling.
Thanks for looking.

07-2016 beautiful soul
I have to confess I have a bit of a scrapper crush on Lisa Dickinson.
She can't make a page that I don't love and want to scraplift. Today I stumbled across this LO by Lisa she had me at diamonds!
I wanted a bit of softer feel so I stitched the diamond shapes and filled them with vellum. I double matted it with black polka dot and then the green from Amy Tan Finders Keepers line. I typed the journaling strip on vellum with my typewriter. The wooden button are from Shimelle's true stories line.
This one is one of my favorites.
Thank you for looking.

PL Week 2
This week I want to talk a bit more about my process or lack there of. I don't include a picture from everyday. It is rare that I or a family memeber don't take a picture everyday but not all pictures need to be recorded in our PL. I also don't need to have them in any order, as long it was this week it can be included. I also scrap LO's with the same picture and sometimes the same story as I include in PL. I am a go with the flow kind of PLer.
Thanks for looking.

06-2016 What bliss looks like @ 7
I was drooling over CHA sneak peeks and a paper by Pink Fresh Studio in the Felicity line. I loved the grey with the water color brights. I thought maybe I could recreate it with my water colors so I brushed a lot of water color streak across a water color sheet. I cut it into strips and stack them to resemble the PF paper.
I rather like how it turned out, I added sequins to match the colored strips the give it shine and a bit of dimension. The gold foiled bits are Heidi Swapp Minc pieces.

05-2016 Better place
Today I saw a LO on Pinterest with this cut file. It was not connected to anything but a Flickr picture. I searched high and low for this cut file because the LO I seen had no source for the cut file. I feared it was a exclusive cut file from a kit club but alas I located it in the Silhouette Design store. I altered it to say "our" instead of "the"
The wooded buttons, the mini heart doily stickers and the pink round labels are from Michael's in their valentines section.
Thanks for looking.
Hubby had send me this text last weekend and I had been itching to scrap it.

PL Wk 1 2016
Week 1- I submitted this week PL to Paper Issues Fans and Friends FB page For the pocket page challenge.
I am using a combo of the many PL core kits I have hoarded over the years. I am not sure why I have saved the boxes but I have and they are stored in my Kallax shelves in my scraproom in the basement.
I do my PL life scraping in my dining room, near my PC and picture printer. I have set up a fold-able table from Walmart parallel to my dining table. I keep all cards in my Raskog cart stored in corner of my dining room.

03-2016 UR Awesome
Here is more of those pictures for the mini photo shoot I talked about yesterday. I do have one more that I have still to scrap, maybe tomorrow.
I seem to have quite a few printed transparencies and never seem to know just what to do with them so today I found a use for this one from Bella Blvd. It is part of their back to school line, I think 2015. On the top half I layered a chevron vellum between the background paper and the transparency to make it feel lighter. Again I journaled on a tag that I tucked behind the main picture.
Here are some close ups

02-2016 Be you
I have been staring at this paper for quite some time, I believe it is a Fancy Pants paper from 2011. I was working with a series of pictures from a mini photo shoot I did with my oldest Daughter last fall and this pic was standing out to me and screaming confident-don't mess with me. Bam - this paper was perfect for it. This is why I just file papers away just in case....
Here are some close ups. The journaling is on a tag tucked in a pocket behind the LO.
Thanks for looking

Paper Issue Take 5 Challege
I took part in the Paper Issues take 5 Challenge today with this layout:

PL 2016
I have been doing Project Life since 2009. Wow, that is a long time to be taking 1 picture a day.
In those 7 years it has taken only 1 PL album per year with a 2 page spread for the 52 weeks. That is until 2015! How did this happened?
Well, that will take a bit of back story: In the end of 2014 I was getting tired of PL and considered not doing it anymore. When I talked with Hubby about it he seemed dismayed that I would not be doing PL. So I rethought how I was doing it. My solution was to treat it like a regular scrapbook page, add stickers, layers of papers and such but just in pockets.
As you can see, 1 album could only hold Jan-Oct. Well, that is not going to work for 2016. I all ready store 2009-2014 in my scraproom in the basement and I don't want my scraproom to become the scrapbook storage room too. I like the albums to be upstairs where that can be looked through by the family. So I needed a new plan for this year if I was going to continue PL.....
So for 2016 I am going to continue to treat PL like last year but only do 1 page spreads for each week. I am hoping that this album can house 2015- Nov-Dec and all of 2016.
So without further ado here is the 2016 part of week 53, all though it was a a short week.

New Year-New Blog
Here goes nothing... I have been blogging on the family blog for many year, well that is until 2014. I got a bit off track and did not feel like keep it up was any fun so I stop posting regularly. In April of 2015 I stopped posting at all.
I was dealing with my 1st child graduating from high school and prepping for the impeding end of his high school life, planning the grad party, prepping for his move to college and dealing with his new sense of adventure (staying out late and being a jerk to everyone) along with all the daily things a mother of 4 does- I just lost my mojo.
2016 is going to be my year to be happy. I don't do a word of the year but this is going to be my goal, to be happy as often as possible, to do more of what makes me happy.
What make me happy is scrapbooking, sewing and volunteering at my girl's school. So I have decide that 2016 is going to be the year that I scrap 100 or more meaningful to me LO's. I have plans for 2 weekend away crops with my girlfriend, I will do LOAD216 in February and I will join in online scrapbook challenges as often as I can. I might even try out for a design team (that is a bit of a scary thought now that I think of it)
So this blog will be my scrapbooking blog.
So hello world! I am Melinda Greer, 43 years old, mother of 4, wife to 1, caretaker of 2 dogs. I have 1.5 years before my oldest daughter graduates from high school so we will see if my new plan of "be Happy" get me through that one....
