LOAD216 Day 6

Saturday's prompts, geography, are go to be another recurring prompt. I went further  with the prompt and considered geography as "a place" and found 2 things to scrap about today.

I got a email of a new cut files for Valentines from The Cut Shoppe and the heart beat had me intrigued.

19-2016

I used pics of Hubby and I from our wedding night and from our Christmas card photo shoot for 2015. The title says it all so I had no journaling.

LO 2- Sticking with Hubby and I and love the Galt House Hotel Restaurant in Louisville, KY was the next place I thought of. It is where we dined as a celebration of our engagement back in 1994.

 20-2016

The place has change since then but the view is still awesome.

Oh my we looked like kids then!

LOAD216 Day 5

Friday's sound like they are going to be another repeating prompt....
Landmark. I don't do a lot of LO about places but I gave it a whirl for LO 1.

The Tridge

The first thing that came to mind when I thought of great landmarks of our city was the Tridge. I researched it and used what I found on the web as my journaling.

With 8.5x11 and 2 5x7 blocks there is not much room for embellishing. I stuck with 3 points of embellishments in a triangle in teal and orangish yellow.

18-2016

For LO 2 I went with a landmark decision in our live. I channeled one of my scrappy crushes, Lisa Dickinson, and took inspiration from one of her LOs.

I talked about the city we live in as our bubble and why it was a good move for us in so many ways.

LOAD216 Day 4

Thursday's are Language for this LOAD. It sounds like this will be a repeating Thursday prompt, not sure how easy that with be by the end of the month. Creating 2 LO on prompt every Thursday might be hard on the brain come February 25th.

16-2016

For LO 1 I went with the language of emoji. I used a couple recent texts from Hubby and I to show how we use emojis to communicate. I used this pin as my inspiration,

For LO 2 I went with the # communication of Instagram. I learned many new # that work for my new Weim puppy. #Velcrodog is a popular one.

17-2016

I went back to a sketch I have used just last month for my "When" LO. I smushed Heidi Swapp Tinsel color shine on the background.

I was lazy and instead of sewing the corner details I used a black marker.  It worked and saved my the hassle of threading the needle with black thread.

LOAD216 Day 3

LOAD216 Wednesday's are Culture and today the prompt was music.

I thought song titles for my first LO. I was struggling at first with a idea for page 2 so I let it simmer while I looked for picture to go with a song title. I looked at pictures first and did some searches for song titles or lyric that made sense. But was getting nowhere fast.

14-2016

I turned to Pinterest next, I am going to rely on my Pinterest board for this LOAD a lot and this pin  made me think of a party.  So our last party was New Year's Eve so these pics of the girls were perfect. I went b&w to cut the crazy colors of the back drop of the Christmas tree(yes I was too lazy to take it down before the New Year). I did erased the b&w where the silver and gold was on their hats, I thought it added the right amount of sparkle and fun.

I brought out the water colors and did the package smushing technique and big splats of color here and there. I layered a Fancy Pants pink diagonal stripe from the Meology line as a frame in the background.

For LO 2 I decided to go with a  twist on the prompt. "Music to my ears" came to mind. My youngest daughter wanting to read is definitely music to my ears.

15-2016

I struggled with this LO a bit, The long title was make the LO off balance to me, it felt disconnected with how I ripped my layers in the picture cluster.

I decided I was too far gone to start over so I just keep adding more. The large chipboard pieces are from Maggie Homes Open book line. This is a couple that I felt I would never use but they made the difference on this LO.

The frame is Heidi Swapp September Skies floral. I am not a floral paper lover so I decided that so many floral paper are in my stash, through paper pads that I need to find a way to use them. As a frame they really just look like color. Win Win.

LOAD216 Day 2

Tuesday's theme is Transportation  and today's prompt is airplane.

I have only been on 2 trips that needed a plane so my pictures on this topic are limited. I have 2 LO that I have pinned that came to mind when I heard the prompt this morning. So I made life easy and went with those as my inspiration.

 12-2016 Flying

This pin  has been on my board for years. I just love the whole looking through the window concept. I found this Basic Grey paper and thought it was perfect for this page.

I drew the windows in the Silhouette studio and cut them. I was lucky that I put the paper on the mat the  right direction. I was not even paying attention to the alphabet across the top. I even grunged (is that a word?) up the edges a bit with my Tim Holtz distress inks.

For LO 2 this pin was my thought, it has also been on my pin board for quite some time.

13-2016 up up & away

I used  Amy Tan printed vellum for the stripes and a airplane cut file from Silhouette Design store and a few airplane brads I was hoarding.

I don't enjoy flying but this was the girl's first flight and they were excited. I put on a brave face so I would not pass my fears on to them. They both enjoyed it greatly so I see a few more vacations in the future that require flying for us.

Thanks for looking.

PL Wk 4 2016

Ok, today was a bit hectic with Load216 and finishing last week's PL. For February PL might get a bit off schedule.  I do still need to make food and sleep:)

Thanks for looking.

LOAD216 Day1

The wait is over! LOAD216 has started.

The prompt today was color- The Netherlands flag: red, white and blue.

10-2016 Happiness begins...

I could not get the flag out of my head so I went with the red, white and blue columns.

I tucked the journaling into the red striped envelope. I picked up a package of them at Michael's from their Valentine's section.

I was loving being in my scrap space that I created a second! And it is on prompt too.

 11-2016 43 & Me

I was thinking I had the Shimelle paper that looks similar to this but I realized that I order it but have not received it yet so I used the paper scraps from the first LO to create the V.

I tucked the journaling for this one behind the picture layers.

I think I might be crazy but creating 2 on prompt was so fulfilling I am challenging myself to do this everyday. It is early days to be challenging myself to this so we will see how it goes. 2 on prompt might be a bit mind boggling after the honeymoon phase.
