LOAD216 Day 12

Friday's prompts are landmark....

I went with a landmark first interaction with my youngest two children.

31-2016
I fell in love with this digital LO on Pinterest . Again I was drawn to the brights on black.

I used a second picture and a flap with the journaling

The hearts are puffy stickers from Walmart. I have oodles of them and use them often.

32-2016

LO 2 was of prompt and just a pretty page. I was in the mood the play with paper so I used the same picture. This pin seemed to fit the bill so I used it for my inspiration.

The string heart is from Michael's Valentine section.

LOAD216 Day 11

Thursday's prompts are language.

For LO 1 I went with the unspoken language of body language. I wanted a dark base to contrast with the picture, my oldest daughter is very fair skinned and she used a filter on this picture before she forwarded it to me and she looked very pale to me.

29-2016

The white stitched circle was the next thing I knew I wanted. The rest was just winging it. I had a few scraps laying around and they were almost the perfect size so I used them.  I really had no other journaling to share on this LO, the title say everything I wanted to say.

LO 2 today was the on the language that my dog uses with her stares. It was just a fun way to convey what she does to us everyday if she thinks we are ignoring her.

30-2016

I don't think I love this one but a LO done is done and I don't throw them out or redo them. I might stick it in the back of the album though. I do like parts of it too so over all I am happy with it.

Thank you for looking.

LOAD216 Day 10

Wednesday's prompt are about culture and today is activities.

We are bit of an active family so I had large stash of pics to choose from.

27-2016

I went with running as it is the biggest activity of most of the family. LO 1 is about my 8 yr old and her fastest mile yet. I came across this pin, it is a LO from a 2013 DT member from Simple Stories. I was drawn to the brights on black not to mention the large chevrons. They lent themselves well to feeling of movement.

My 2 LO was a quickie, I brushed on metallic gold water color as a base. I laid everything on that. Ripped a couple strips of paper to layer with the pictures.  The hardest part was figuring out where I was going to add a bit of journaling.

28-2016

The title was the start of the LO and I just had to find the right Thickers I was going to use. I am really happy with the diagonal striped frame.

Thanks for looking.

LOAD216 Day 9

Prompt for Tuesday's is transportation and today it is train.

I have only been on a train once and have only 1 pic of that occasion so that is LO 2 today. So for LO 1 I went off prompt....

25-2016

I was toying with sting art last night and was not getting it to look right so I went to bed trying to think of a different way to get the look of string art without string. My youngest daughter suggested rubber bands, not a bad idea but that would not translate well to scrapbooking. By morning I had this idea of thin strips of paper laid across the heart to look like the string.

I grabbed a hand full of scraps and my trimmer and started cutting 1/8" strips. When I had a pile I started laying and gluing. I sat in front of the TV and watch HGTV for a couple hours.

I had a second picture to go with my story so I added a flap with journaling and a gold heart doily.

I have thoughts of other shapes I could faux string art. Star, circles large words and on and on. I think that it might be faster to cut the shape on the silhouette and back it with the strips. Might be less tedious.
 26-2016

LO 2 was on prompt, my one and only train picture. I added a Monopoly card, Reading Railroad was meaningful as the Milk and Honey line was once owned by the Reading Rail company.

I fellow Loadster had an awesome take on this prompt, the word train other meanings. Example- You can train a dog. So that would have kept me on prompt for 2 LO had I thought of it....

Thanks for taking a look.

PL Wk 5

I finally got a last weeks Pl spread done spending a bit of time hear and there on it. While doing LOAD I am digging through my digital  pictures and printing daily so it is easy to print a pic for PL while I am in there.

LOAD216 Day 8

Today's prompt is Color of Canadian flag, seems simple enough right...

23-2016

I tried to stick to just red and white but it looked blah so I added gold to the mix. I took inspiration from this LO. I Had the vellum stars cut already from a Heidi Swapp holiday die set. They were just laying in a bin.

I sewed them them down along with the sequins and paper polka dotted stars.

24-2016

For LO 2 I used more ideas I picked up from Paige Evan's classes and BPC. Layers and layers of paper triangles all sewn on the edges. I added in the craft background to the color palette for this one.

LOAD216 Day 7

Sunday's prompt will be recurring as well. It is food. I don't take a lot of food pictures and I have told the stories of my picky eaters in a few different ways (today I will  add one more). I will use Sunday's to tell stories of "food for thought" moments mainly as I am a quote junkie.

I took a few Paige Evan's class at Big Picture Classes, Paige's Pages 1-6,  just before LOAD started. I made up a few backgrounds while taking her classes that I set a side. I was not in a scrapbooking mood, I just wanted to play with paper and glue.

21-2016

This is one of those backgrounds that I made and set aside. I thought it was perfect for a LO with a quote on it and not a lot of embellishing.

I typed up the Maya Angelo quote in Silhouette Design studio using the Bakery font (Free from Da Font). It was getting lost on the background so I cut a mat from copper script vellum from We R. The floral chip board is Maggie Holmes Open Book.

 22-2016

This is my token picky eater - food LO for this month. Unless I think to snap a pic of what I eating this month It will be the only food LO I can do.

We are a family of 6 and up until 2008 1/2 of us were very picky eaters. I shake my head at this concept of not even being willing to taste something new but alas I lived with 3 of them so it is very much our reality.  Hubby is a reformed picky eater (his mother is so very happy about this). He was 40 before he stopped being stubborn and tasted things. His poor mother would make him instant mash potatoes every night all while feeding a family of 7. He is the baby of his family (enough said;).

Here are the close ups of the journaling tag that is tucked in behind the main cluster.
